Here we start, with our short introductive part of class 10 - 1st ch of biology.

What do you mean by life processes?

➡ The basic functions performed by living organisms to maintain their life on this earth are called 'Life Processes'.

Life processes are the basic processes which will be taken place in any living organism for their survival.

▪ Movement of various types can be taken as an indication of life.

The above picture shows you about the basic processes of life:

Nutrition: The process of intake of food, digestion of food, absorption of the food, and distribution of food in the complete body. It is the basic need of any living organism.
𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: The process of releasing energy from food is called respiration. It also include the taking oxygen ( inhalation) and releasing carbon di oxide ( exhalation) .
Transportation: The act of transport of substances like oxygen, food, water, enzymes, hormones, ect. inside the body of an organism.
Excretion: Removal of waste and other toxic substances from the body.
Control-co-ordination: It is the working together of various organs of an organism to produce a systematic response to a particular stimuli and for the coordination to occur a certain form of control is required in a body.
Growth: Growth refers to an increase in size either through an increase in the number of cells or through an increase in the size of an individual cell.
Reproduction: A biological process by which a new individual organism is produced.
Movement: An action by an organism or part of an organism change of postion or place.

# What is the need of having life proces in a living organism?

➡A living organism need life processes for their existence, for growth and development, for energy and for life.
